The Skilled Migration Program Assessment Officer is responsible for conducting skills assessments of individuals seeking to migrate to Australia under the Australian Government's Skilled Migration program. This includes assessing the relevance of applicants' educational qualifications and employment history to their nominated occupation for migration.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conducting skills assessments by evaluating Australian and overseas qualifications and employment history of applicants.
- Maintaining confidential client records and ensuring timely and appropriate responses to assessment enquiries.
- Collaborating with clients, migration agents, and officers of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) as required.
- Collecting and collating information from internal and external sources to assist with planning, projects, and audits.
- Responding to client enquiries, including those received through the Online Advisory Service.
- Staying up-to-date with Australian and international qualifications systems and occupations relevant to the Skilled Migration Program.

**Required Experience**:

- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to research Australian and overseas qualifications and educational institutions and industries.
- Understanding of the Australian Qualifications Framework and overseas education systems.
- Knowledge of the nature and skill levels required for a wide range of professional occupations in the Australian labour market.
- Ability to establish and maintain assessment resources and databases, both hard copy and electronic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients from non-English speaking backgrounds and their agents.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet work deadlines.
- Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
