The Graduate Excellence Program is a structured leadership development program that offers challenging and rewarding opportunities with real responsibility and accountability. It includes a mix of on-the-job experience and formal training workshops to complement and expand on what you are learning in your daily work and assist you in your transition from study to full-time employment. In addition to the formal learning and development, you will receive coaching and mentoring from a robust support network of leaders and graduate alumni. The Graduate Excellence Program is a 12-month program with a likelihood of conversion to permanent after successful completion of probation and demonstrated capability in your graduate role.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Prepare or assist in the preparation of complex reports on election commitments, submissions, briefing notes, legislation and other regulatory instruments, commentary, presentations, speeches, publications and correspondence.
- Conduct research and analysis on complex issues relating to policy and major projects and develop recommendations for decision-makers.
- Prepare or assist in the preparation of policy options documents, papers and guidelines. Support the delivery of key projects and initiatives ensuring goals, objectives and milestones are met and are in accordance with the policy direction of the Queensland Government. Exercise judgement to effectively manage competing priorities to ensure timely delivery of outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, along with Resources' clients, all level of government and other organisations. Organise meetings between peak bodies and the department and other events including agendas and papers.
