**The Policy Officer key responsibilities are**:

- Support the department's consultative processes and attendance at inter-agency meetings. Analyse and prepare reports, general correspondence, briefing notes, memoranda for approval to departmental standards on diverse issues. Provide high quality process support to departmental policy and research functions. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders.

Prior policy experience is not a requirement of the position. Applicants with frontline child safety or other backgrounds seeking a career change are encouraged to apply.
It is a requirement of all employees to maintain cultural capability, commit to self-directed learning regarding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to contribute to a culturally safe and inclusive workplace.
