**1.00 FTE**

The Manager, Taikurrinthi (Aboriginal Liaison Office) is responsible for the management and direction of the Aboriginal Unit of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Staff are invited to express interest in undertaking this role and must be available for the designated periods **January 2024 - June 2024 (6 months).**

**The Manager, Taikurrinthi**:

- The Manager is responsible for the effective functioning of the Aboriginal liaison and patient support services to enhance the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and their families.
- The Manager advocates and contributes to the development of hospital policy, practice and systems to ensure a culturally responsive health service and the needs and issues of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients are met.
- The Manager, Taikurrinthi (Aboriginal Liaison Office) will contribute to the development of the operational plan of the Aboriginal Liaison Unit in line with the strategic directions of the Women’s and Children’s Health Network and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

**Experience**:

- Demonstrated experience in communicating professionally with colleagues, staff and consumers
- Experience in professional team and personnel leadership.
- Experience in interdisciplinary team work.
- Experience health service delivery.
- Experience in effective development and implementation of goals.
- Experience in quality improvement programs.

**Knowledge**
- Knowledge of the principles and practice of OHSW, Equal Opportunity, the Public Sector Act 2009 Code of Ethics and diversity appropriate to the requirements of the position.
- Knowledge of current and/or culturally related Aboriginal Health issues.
- Knowledge and understanding of health issues for women children and their families.
- Knowledge of the policy context for the development of Aboriginal Health services.
