The role
The key responsibilities of the Principal Policy Officer, AOD Strategy and Partnerships Unit include:
- Lead and manage specified projects in line with Queensland Health project management methodologies to ensure the delivery of timely and quality project outcomes.
- Liaise, consult and develop partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders including Department of Health, Hospital and Health Services, other government departments, professional groups, consumers, families, carers and community organisations.
- Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders and senior management on specific issues relating to the implementation of projects.
- Prepare high level briefing documents, submissions, correspondence and reports including project management plans and materials.
- Establish and maintain networks with internal and external stakeholders.
The successful person
**You will have demonstrated**:
- Ability to manage system-wide and/or state-wide projects that are time-critical and achieve expected deliverables across alcohol and other drug strategy and planning.
- High level strategic, conceptual and analytical skills and capacity to develop reports, discussion papers and submissions.
- High level negotiation and verbal communication skills, including experience in cultivating productive working relationships and partnerships.
- High level policy, planning and project management skills and ability to formulate and communicate strategic advice relevant to mental health alcohol and other drugs issues.
- Strong understanding or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the alcohol and other drug treatment service system including the complex interrelationships within the government, non-government and private sectors.
