About This Opportunity

Are you a skilled and motivated leader with a passion for software development and creative problem solving? Join UQ’s Information Technology Services team as a Development Team Lead, where you will guide a dynamic and diverse team of developers who specialise in building complex Business Process Digitisation (workflows) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) processes.

Our team's work goes beyond standard automation, so we are seeking someone with extensive technical expertise in mainstream software engineering. Your experience will be invaluable in providing technical guidance, driving development best practices, and fostering agile processes within the team.

As a leader, you lead by example and take pride in delivering high-quality code and technical solutions. Equally important to you is the growth and development of your team members. You find fulfillment in mentoring them and witnessing their technical capabilities and confidence flourish.

Effective communication is crucial in ensuring customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for explaining highly technical matters to clients and providing training and guidance to junior staff.

The projects you will undertake are diverse in scope, technology, and stakeholders. They encompass both administrative and digital experience domains and involve all UQ stakeholders, including staff, students, alumni, and the broader UQ Community.

In this role, you will report to the Manager of Application Development & Support and will be responsible for providing guidance and direction to other team members on specific tasks or projects.

This is a full-time (100%), continuing position.

At HEW level 8, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $105,338 - $118,280, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total package to be negotiated based on individual merits.

About You

Essential:
- Qualifications and training equivalent to a postgraduate degree in IT or significant progress towards such qualifications, and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.- Strong software development experience- Experience with web technologies like JavaScript, JQuery, Angular JS- Experience with Database concepts, Data management (RDBMS), and SQL- Demonstrated technical leadership and mentoring of developers- Demonstrated experience in providing estimates to clients- Experience with agile development methodologies- Commitment to secure development practices, and building a team culture that supports secure development- Analytical skills to asses
