Reporting to the General Manager Software Engineer and Delivery, you will lead a team of Software Engineers. Your expertise will be crucial in optimising our software development processes, fostering efficiency, and boosting productivity. By spearheading innovation and continuous improvement efforts, you will elevate our engineering standards to new heights, pushing boundaries and setting new standards of excellence.
Main duties and responsibilities:
In this crucial role, you'll play a pivotal role in our continued success by:
- Developing high-quality software solutions in accordance with best practice standards, ensuring documentation and test coverage.
- Engaging with our Architecture team to ensure solutions are well-architected and viable prior to development.
- Mentoring team members, communicating standards and driving improvements in engineering metrics.
- Leading the direction of Engineering through exploration, problem-solving, and leadership.
- Implementing solutions across the full software development lifecycle, working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Contributing to the definition of engineering standards and associated metrics.
- Estimating development effort for prioritized tasks and conducting efficient research assignments, documenting key learnings.
About you:
As our Lead Software Engineer, you will bring extensive professional software development experience to the table, complemented by leading design and architecture initiatives. Your extensive background encompasses leadership roles where you've mentored and guided teams to achieve exceptional results. Proficient in Java, .NET, and React, you also possess hands-on experience with cloud services like AWS and Azure, alongside expertise in RESTful API and microservices architecture. Your strategic acumen and problem-solving prowess enable you to execute projects flawlessly, while your strong communication skills foster collaboration and drive innovation. With a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to risk mitigation, you're poised to elevate our engineering standards and drive impactful outcomes for our team.
