**National Trusts and Foundations Manager**

**About the Organisation**

NextSense, formerly Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC), is Australia’s second oldest not-for-profit organisation, and they have been supporting people across Australia who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind or have low vision for over 160 years. Today, they deliver world-class education, cochlear implant, allied health, therapy, research and clinical services to children, adults, and their families.

They work with children, adults, and their families to educate and create an individual program of care that meets their unique needs, and they work with clients to achieve their own goals and potential. They provide a holistic approach to hearing services for newborns through to people over 90 years old, and they help children who are blind or have low vision to develop the right skills, mobility, and independence to confidently explore their world.

**About the Opportunity**

This is an inspiring career opportunity for a Trusts and Foundations Manager to work closely with funders to grow and cultivate partnership opportunities for a variety of life-changing programs that need support.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with the program teams to highlight the impactful work happening across all service areas nationally to gain the support from a variety of new and existing funders.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and deliver a strategic growth plan for Trust and Foundations portfolio
- Prospect and develop new strategic and trusted relationships within the philanthropic sector, and research and scope markets to raise the organisation’s profile to build an evolving pipeline of opportunities
- Grow, develop and maintain meaningful relationships with the prospective and current funders to ensure they feel valued, engaged and connected to the organisations impact
- Maintain a calendar for submissions, including weekly monitoring of Trust and Foundation opportunities with associated deadlines
- Work closely with the Head of Corporate Partnerships to develop relationships with Intermediaries and Corporate Foundations, and also with the Head of Philanthropy to secure funding for capital projects as needed
- Lead, inspire and collaborate with the Grants Officer to ensure goals are met, and work closely with the wider team on a national scale to positively influence opportunities for funding and to create an exceptional experience for all partners

**Skills and Experience**
- Proven success leading the growth and development of a Trusts and Foundations portfolio
- Passion and drive to scope and develop new opportunities across the funding landscape, and a collaborative approach to work closely with the Program teams on a national scale to identify and share multiple initiatives that funders can support
- High organisation and project management skills, with the ability to manage and develop a growing, evolving and deadline-driven calendar of grant opportunities
- Exceptional written communication skills and the ability to develop business proposals from concept stage to conversion, and through to acquittal
- Strong relationship-building, influencing, networking and communication skills and proven ability to develop engaging and results-focused relationships
- A collaborative approach, and genuine commitment to support children and adults with hearing and vision loss to reach their full potential
