The State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) is looking for a Manager Workers Compensation and Home Building Compensation Regulation (WHBCR), to join our Premiums and Markets team

**About Us**:
This is an exciting opportunity to work in our State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) who regulates three statutory insurance schemes in NSW. This role sits more specifically in the Premiums and Markets team responsible for the regulation of pricing and market practices and prudential regulation of Workers Compensation and Home Building Compensation schemes in NSW.

We focus on financial support and the treatment people need to recover from injury so they can return to their usual activities. Our key objectives are customer choice and affordability and the effective management and sustainability of the insurance schemes we regulate.

**About the role**:
This exciting role involves leading a small team of specialists and will be reporting to the Director Premiums and Markets.

You will work very closely with the Executive Director and will gain broader exposure across a wide range of stakeholders; senior executives within SIRA and the broader NSW Government and across the insurance sector.

**Key responsibilities for the role include**:

- Drive stakeholder engagement and operational direction to ensure services align with business and divisional objectives.
- Provide advice, coach, manage and mentor team members to build knowledge and capability.
- Monitor and analyse scheme risk, to proactively identify trends and develop insights from data to address and mitigate performance issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide technical expertise and input to support other regulatory and supervisory functions to develop and implement policies and strategies to improve organisational outcome.

**About you**:

- Strong knowledge of personal injury schemes and an excellent understanding of the insurance value chain.
- Ability to flex the skill set and approach from big picture, strategic focus, to detailed technical and operational aspects.
- Experienced leader who will mentor and engage their team while driving a great employee experience.
- Analytical thinker who can think outside the box to solve complex problems.
- Excellent communicator who can adjust their style to suit a variety of audiences.
- Thrives around people, working towards collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Expertise/exposure to financial analysis highly regarded.
- Experience in regulation is an advantage.
