**ABOUT OUR CLIENT**

Our client is a privately owned towing and transport business with a national presence. Due to growth within the business, they now require a Head of Business Development to join their dynamic business.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

As the Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for the development, execution, ownership and drive of departmental strategies and plans for the Business Development Team.

You will implement strategies to secure new customers while retaining and growing the existing customers through the provision of targeted marketing strategies, sales and account management, customer service and support experience.

**KEY RESPONSIBILTIES**
- Lead the Business Development team and execute on business plan initiatives;
- Lead the Business Development team by providing coaching and support to departmental leads (Marketing & Sales, Account Management & Projects) so that they can deliver improved business solutions;
- Are responsible for development and execution on overall business strategy;
- Establish objectives, KPIs, for departmental business units;
- Drive and motivate department leads and deliver improved business solutions and/or commercial synergies;
- Manage the preparation of budgets, reports and forecasts for departmental business units;
- Ad-hoc tasks as required by management.

**EXPERIENCE**
- Possess relevant management and business qualifications, in particular Transport/Logistics/Customer Service qualifications;
- Have significant experience in the development and management of Transport Operations, Sales or Project Management;
- Proven experience in a supervisory/management role, as well as delivering good customer service and developing productive ongoing relationships;
- Proven experience in managing operations in accordance with contracted standards;
- Account Management/Business Development experience is essential;
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
