**About the role**:
You will be responsible for advising and assisting with negotiating and managing commercial arrangements for operational water, electricity and gas contracts in an innovative and proactive manner.

You’ll own and understand our contracts to help us ensure that we continue to meet our various statutory and contractual obligations. You will be able to confidently communicate our obligations and opportunities to relevant internal stakeholders, in turn maximising our performance in the energy market.

An initial key focus of your role will be consolidating, documenting and enhancing our existing contract arrangements and setting up the right systems and processes to ensure we are proactively meeting our contractual obligations.

**About you**:

- Learn and develop a broad understanding of contracts, the Water Management Act 1999, National Electricity Market (NEM), as well as power system and transmission networks
- Administer operational contract obligations for compliance and enhancement opportunities across the full lifecycle of contracts.
- Manage stakeholders and influence with the ability to listen, understand and modify positions to achieve mutually acceptable outcomes
- Work to maximise efficiency in contract management, supporting the continuous improvement of our processes and procedures.
- Provide analytical support to the Commercial team during the negotiation and management of high value contracts

**To be successful in this role you will have**:
You’ll bring a fresh viewpoint to our Spot Markets Team with your proven experience in collaborating and working across teams, and your analytical and methodical mindset to deliver on strategic objectives. You also have:

- Demonstrated experience in contract administration and management
- Tertiary qualification in an appropriate technical, commercial or legal discipline or relevant industry experience
- Enthusiasm to learn and grow with our team
- Experience and or exposure in water management, the energy market, knowledge of continuous improvement principles would also be beneficial, but not mandatory
