- We are seeking a talented communications professional who thrives on working in a fast-paced team and is passionate in supporting the delivery of key communications activities across the agency. You will play a key role within the Communications Unit, bringing your positivity and enthusiasm to help lead and shape the agency's media and communications program and deliver strong corporate communications for internal and external audiences. You have strong written and verbal communications skills, exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet and manage competing deadlines. You are adaptable and understand the importance of collaborative teamwork. **Period of Appointment**:
36 Months

**Hours per fortnight**:
Up to 73.5 hours - flexible options available.

**Duties**:
Lead the development and implementation of high-level media and communications strategies for the department and individual business units and at a whole-of-government level when required.

Provide strategic advice to DPAC business units, and whole-of-government clients on a variety of media, communications, and marketing issues.

Build and maintain proactive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders to produce communications materials, including liaison with creative agencies, printers and photographers as required, and provide quality control to ensure the agency is promoted in a professional way.

Manage critical media issues through liaison with stakeholders including the Government Media Office and Ministerial Advisors. Research and prepare written material as required.

Oversee and deliver projects and programs of strategic importance, including management of contracts for external service providers.

Work to ensure all communication complies with departmental policies, the Tasmanian Government Branding and Communications Policy.

**Desirable Requirements**:

- _A current full motor vehicle license_
- _Relevant formal tertiary qualification in Communications or similar and 3-5 years of professional experience in a similar media or communications role._
