**The Role**
The Environmental Test Facility (ETF) Manager is accountable under broad direction, and in accordance with established priorities, principles, methodology and work practices to undertake a range of duties relating to conducting test and evaluation activities in accordance with MIL STD 810. Duties include, but are not limited to, one or more of the following:
- Planning, development and execution of environmental / mechanical test and evaluation tasking.
- Prepare, review and approve technical instructions, task plans and reports associated with the environmental testing of EO and associated components.
- Plan, co-ordinate and assist in the maintenance/repair of complex testing facilities and equipment, in accordance within an established engineering management and technical regulatory framework.
Employment at Port Wakefield currently attracts Special Defence Locality Assistance allowance of approximately $6,640.00 per annum ($255.36 per fortnight).
**About our Team**
The ETF supports operational activities at the Proof and Experimental Establishments Graytown and Port Wakefield carrying out explosive ordnance test and evaluation activities. The Test Facility has a number of functions such as; climatic testing, non-destructive testing, vibration testing as well as other mechanical / impact related testing and other elements of artificial aging of defence explosives ordnance.
The ETF Manager guides the teams that are responsible for the co-ordination, set up and safe operation of the required test equipment.
Testing carried out within the ETF requires technical ability to set up testing, development of test jigs and fixtures to enable compliance to required standards and procedures. The ETF is supported within JPEU by the engineering team.
To provide the positive outcomes required, the team works with exciting technology that aids in the provision of test outcomes, such as state of the art conditioning chambers, vibration shakers and radiographic capabilities
They will be accountable to lead a team, allocate work, resources and tasks, set work area priorities, develop strategies and evaluate business outcomes.
Be responsible for the team's outcome operating within a safety or technical regulatory framework.
Ability to analyse collected data from test activities.
Use experience to review or develop technical data, local quality management publications or documentation associated with explosive ordnance or armament activities.
