We have an opportunity for an experienced, driven and energetic Communication Advisor to join our Corporate Affairs team. You’ll be part of the team responsible for delivering initiatives that support CSIRO’s SME Connect business unit.
As the Communication Advisor, you will lead the delivery of tactical internal and external communication plans for the SME Connect business unit, supported by the Communication Manager. You’ll deliver a range of activities such as digital content production, blog writing, drafting media releases, developing collateral, stakeholder management and event co-ordination. You’ll be instrumental in creating awareness and interest in our SME programs and initiatives.
You enjoy bringing stories to life, are extremely organised and know how to engage with audiences. You have strong relationship and project management skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with diverse stakeholders.
**Your duties will include**:
- Setting work priorities, normally within a clear statement of objectives, operating as an individual and member of a team.
- Contributing to the implementation of the SME Connect business unit (BU) communication strategy, ensuring alignment with the broader Corporate Affairs strategy.
- Preparing engaging audience-focused content for a range of platforms, including, but not limited to, traditional media, social media, digital channels, and marketing collateral.
- Evaluating delivery against success measures and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Leading small project teams to deliver campaigns, influencing and negotiating with stakeholders to deliver impact.
- Assisting the BU Communication Manager with the identification and management of issues.
- Building and maintaining team-focused relationships across all areas of the Corporate Affairs team, sharing knowledge and working together in pursuit of the development and promotion of best practice communication management.

**Salary**:AU$89k - AU$101k pa plus up to 15.4% superannuation

**To be considered you will need**:
- Relevant diploma/bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in a similar role in communications - PR, marketing, digital, media or journalism.
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of communication and/or marketing plans, with strong skills and experience in areas such as media relations, public relations, government affairs, digital content creation, event co-ordination, CRM and content management systems.
- Ability to readily adapt to changing circumstances and to operate well with situations that lack clarity to achieve team objectives.
- Demonstrated organisation and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage several different projects concurrently.
- Initiative and flexibility to contribute and work collaboratively across the Corporate Affairs function, to achieve One CSIRO outcomes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to build and maintain excellent collaborative relationships to successfully manage stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
