HESA Program Practitioner Role The HESA Program Practitioner has a key responsibility to deliver a mental health curriculum to Year 10 students across multiple schools throughout Term 2 2023 (April - July 2023). After onboarding and training provided by Equal Ed, you will be deployed to our partnering schools to teach and engage students to enhance their overall mental health and wellbeing.
**Responsibilities**:
- Delivery of HESA Pilot Program to cohorts of Year 10 Students in 60-75 minute classroom sessions, after undergoing training.
- Facilitate engaging discussions with young people to drive discourse on mental health.
- Create and facilitate an inclusive and safe space for young people to share experiences and discuss mental health topics.
- Build rapport with young people through establishing empathy and connection.
- Familiarise yourself with the HESA Program curriculum, and adapt to modifications and feedback from schools and students as they arise.

**About You**:
- Strong interpersonal skills, such as empathy, communication and collaboration.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to effectively manage the delivery of multiple classes.
- Creativity and proactivity to innovate existing forms of content and delivery.
- Growth mindset and adaptability in response to feedback, modifications and alterations to processes, scheduling and curriculum.
**Key Experiences and Qualifications**:
- Background in working with young people strongly preferred (e.g. classroom teaching, tutoring, counselling, youth work, workshop presentations etc.)
- Confidence in public speaking and presenting, especially for younger demographics such as high school students.
- Comprehensive understanding of mental health from personal and/or professional experiences.
- Possession of a valid Working With Children Check (Employee).
- A reliable means of transport to visit and deliver sessions at target school
**Supports Provided**:
- Tailored training program delivered by development team to equip facilitator with knowledge and skills required for success in the role.
- Direct and ongoing support from development team and senior leadership in providing the reasonable resources required for the successful delivery of the HESA program.
- Guidance from development team and senior leadership on adapting to certain elements of the workshop and responding to different demographics of young people.
- Ongoing support to build rapport with young people while building healthy boundaries as a mental health facilitator, through regular debriefings.
- Additional support to be provided as identified by you.
