**How you’ll make an impact**

The Head of Capability plays an integral role at Xero within the PX team. Sitting within the Organisational Development (OD) leadership team, it is a pivotal role and team in enabling Xero’s to do the best work of their lives (something all within PX are focussed on).

In OD we contribute to this mission by:

- Embedding the Xero Values into the everyday experience of Xeros, globally
- Designing ways of working that promote learning, collaboration, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion
- Cultivating a culture, and developing talent capability, that will enable the delivery of Xero’s customer vision and strategic ambitions
- Using a data driven approach to know and listen to our Xeros and identifying whose voices we need to add or amplify

This role will deliver exceptional and diverse learning opportunities to Xero’s building capability that addresses individual, team and organisational capability needs, whilst leading your awesome team and working collaboratively across the business.

This role will design and deliver a Learning strategy for Xero including curriculum, and service delivery model. Key components of the design and delivery are measurable capability uplift, scalability and improved learning experiences for Xeros. This role works collaboratively and cross functionally to deliver strategic objectives

**What you’ll do**:

- Create a vision for a strong learning culture, enabled by solutions aligned to business needs
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve the vision, including learning needs analysis, service delivery model, assessment and improvement in learning experiences
- Design and deliver impactful, global learning programs (curriculum) aligned to business strategy
- Lead a team of learning professionals, work closely with vendors, and collaborate extensively with cross functional teams to sequence and prioritise Learning solutions
- Develop an annual learning plan to support the strategy, based on an understanding of strategic and prioritised enterprise capability needs
- Design and use a measurement framework to evaluate the effectiveness of learning interventions and embed processes for continuous improvement
- Work cross functionally to prioritise enabling technologies, and lead business case development for learning systems and tool investment
- Regularly monitor / audit compliance training and identify actions to manage risks or opportunities identified

**What you’ll bring with you - Critical competencies**:

- Deep expertise in learning and development; current and emerging theories and practice
- Strong coaching ability as a people leader, and L&D thought leader
- Excellent program management and change management skills
- Strategic and systems thinking capability, combined with the ability to influence outcomes, and build sustainable relationships across the organisation
- Ability to use data to ensure effective solution design, implementation and measurement

**What you’ll bring with you - Experience**:

- Track record of designing and implementing Learning strategy and solutions, that deliver measurable capability uplift
- Experience leading engaged, and enabled teams, supporting professional development and growth
- Experience working in complex, matrixed global organisations
- Experience delivering effective quantitative and qualitative measurement and insights to inform continuous improvement
- Experience in other fields of Organisational Development desirable
