**Role**:
1. Develop and implement Hands-On Learning projects in cooperation with students and their school communities.

2. Support young people through the delivery of competency-based learning experiences gathering evidence to document student learning and achievement.

3. Communicate the educational needs of the students to build effective educational pathways for them.

4. Build strong supportive relationships for students that work to maintain student connection with their school community and modify student behaviours.

5. Implement key elements of the Hands-On Learning model of educational support to ensure the consistent delivery of a quality program.

6. Implement effective student management consistent with the school¿s values and processes.

7. In their first year of work with a mentor to participate in professional development planning, implementation and reflection and developing a professional portfolio.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support the Allied Health team to develop, deliver and evaluate Allied Health services for students
- Provide support in programs for teachers in classrooms as directed by the Allied Health staff.
- Support Allied Health staff to deliver professional development programs for staff in the areas within the scope of practice of Allied Health.
- Maintain appropriate records and provide written and oral reports in line with school policies and procedures
- Assist students on an individual or group basis in specific learning areas.
- Assist with the communication between students and teachers, particularly the interpretation of instructions
- Provide basic physical and emotional care for students
- Participate in team meetings
- Assist with toileting, meals and lifting of students requiring special care
- Provide medical intervention support to a student who has a specific medical condition that requires assistance
- Assist with the supervision of students in the playground, at camps, on excursions, in sporting activities, therapy activities and life skills
- Assist in the preparation of student resources and equipment
- Prepare basic curriculum support resources
- Set up and put away equipment and materials in support of teaching programs.
- Observe students and draw the attention of the teacher to them where necessary
- Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of programs and evaluation of individual student involvement and achievement
- Assist students with the preparation and service of meals
- Ensure work areas and materials, equipment and appliances are maintained in a clean and ready to use condition.

Assist in the preparation of equipment and purchasing of materials and supplies as required.
