**Position Information**:
Waniora Public School (267 students) is located in an idyllic coastal setting in the northern suburbs of Wollongong. Our school is an active member of the Seacliff Community of Schools and is located within the Wollongong North Principal Network. We enjoy a strong and productive relationship with Bulli High School (located next door).

As a learning community, our school continues to be defined by our core values of respect, responsibility and safety. We are fortunate to have an active and supportive parent community who assist the school in achieving it's educational goals for students.

Waniora Public School values inclusivity and is focused on providing a learning environment for students that empowers them as life long learners. Waniora Public School has 12 Aboriginal students who are supported academically, socially and culturally to ensure that each student achieves expected growth, or better, on internal school progress and achievement data.

Waniora staff place a high level of importance on working collaboratively and adopting practices proven by research to be effective in improving outcomes for students. We are committed to ongoing professional learning that centres upon curriculum implementation and personalised learning.

Our school plan is the product of consultation with our school community and the Northern Illawarra Aboriginal Education Consultative Group.

**Selection Criteria**:

1. Demonstrated ability to strengthen and deepen the executive team developing a team of strategic, progressive instructional leaders who can lead, support and mentor staff through curriculum change and the implementation of innovative pedagogy which promotes student centred learning in a future focused educational landscape.

2. A highly visible, approachable and collaborative leader that motivates and inspires staff to build a culture of continuous improvement and high expectations for students, staff and community.

3. Proven strength to lead and support teachers in developing teaching and learning programs that provide high challenge for all students and differentiate effectively for individual needs.

4. An inspiring, energetic leader with excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to genuinely engage and build strong authentic connections with students, staff, parents and the wider community.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
