**About the Role**
This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to join the Gender and Women’s Health Unit and work on research related to maternal, sexual and reproductive health and rights. The Research Fellow in Global Maternal Health will commence with working on a portfolio of implementation research projects related to scaling up evidence-based practices in maternal and newborn health, including respectful maternity care, aspirin for pre-eclampsia, and antenatal corticosteroids for preterm birth management.

This is a great opportunity for an early career researcher to build their research and leadership skills, with fantastic opportunities for mixed-methods data analysis, publication, and collaboration with stakeholders in Australia and globally.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Participate in research independently and as a member of a research team.
- Ownership of defined elements of the research projects including components of the mixed-methods formative research, process evaluations, and systematic reviews.
- Contribute to data collection and analysis, using specialised programs for qualitative and quantitative data assessment such as Stata and Atlas.ti

**Who We Are Looking For**
To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated researcher, with experience in working in research in the substantive area of maternal health, reproductive justice, health inequalities or related fields. You will also have excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

You will also have:

- PhD or equivalent in public health or related field.
- Demonstrated working experience in public health or related field.
- Demonstrated interest and desire to improve women’s health in low and middle-income countries.

Through research, teaching and public engagement, our work contributes to a robust knowledge base about the health effects of gender inequity and its intersection with social, economic and cultural factors. We are a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre in Women’s Health and work in partnership with scholars and agencies in the Asia-Pacific region to increase regional research capacity. We are an interdisciplinary team with expertise in social epidemiology, social psychology, sociology, demography, health services research, and public health.
