In this role you will support the Group Head of Corporate Communication and Comms Lead, CEO & CFO, in implementing communication strategies and activities for Westpac Group, ensuring that these are designed to engage employees in the vision, strategy and values.

Your role within Corporate Communication is designed to provide specialist support for implementing communication activity including, but not limited to, regular channels, events and campaigns.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Support the management of division-wide channels and messages, ensuring they meet best practice communication standards and are continuously improved to meet the needs of Westpac Group.
- Adhoc strategy and planning requests and projects, as required.
- Work with the Group Head of Corporate Communication and Comms Lead, CEO & CFO to provide communication counsel and support to relevant internal stakeholders.
- Support the management of key communication events and channels in line with Group and divisional communication strategies.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, business partners and employees to build the reputation of the team.
- Shares best practice with the Corporate Communication team and help to develop processes and tools.

**What do I need?**
- Communication experience in public relations consultancy or in-house positions
- Evidence of working successfully within large organisations with complex reputation issues - ideally 5+ years’ experience
- Superior written and verbal communication ability
- Strategic thinking, flexibility, ability to respond to short deadlines, operating independently and effectively in an unstructured work environment
- Ability to proactively identify issues before they arise and develop strategies to minimise reputational risk for the Group.
- Ability to build and manage strong relationships with senior executives and a range of stakeholders and business partners
- Proactive team player with proven ability to collaborate with others to achieve goals
- Tertiary degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Digital Media
- Strong creativity and ability to develop communications and events that engage employees
- Good level of commercial awareness and understanding of Westpac Group’s business strategy.
- Experience in all aspects of corporate communications - issues and crisis management, media, stakeholder engagement, reputation management.
