**About the Position**
Are you passionate about event planning and customer experience? We are seeking a dedicated Events Officer to join our Customer and Communications team for a 12-month parental leave contract. This role will work closely with the Events Coordinator to plan, manage, and facilitate City-run and funded events as part of the Arts and Events portfolio. Utilizing your project management and customer service skills, you'll help deliver the City's strategic objectives and support the local events industry.
**Key Responsibilities**
The duties of the Events Officer City Events will include but are not limited to:
- Oversee the City Events portfolio, including sponsored and partnership events, project recognition events and City-owned and led events.
- Develop and facilitate sponsorship opportunities and contracts to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Support event planning and facilitate the approvals process for City Events portfolio in line with City policies and procedures and event industry requirements.
- Develop and implement marketing and communication plans for the City Events portfolio.
- Maintain professional relationships with relevant stakeholders including suppliers, customers, industry bodies etc.
- Negotiate with contracted suppliers and internal partners on technical requirements for the successful delivery of events.
**About You**
- Proven experience as an Events Officer or similar role within local government
- Ability to manage complex and large-scale events in a calm and positive manner
- Committed to delivering high-quality customer experience
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills

This temporary full-time position is a Level 7 Inside Workforce Agreement position which attract a salary from $96,731.43 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.
**To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have ability obtain a**:
- A copy of Australian driving licence
- National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
- Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
- The right to work in Australia
