ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exceptional 2 year (max term) full time opportunity for an Information Management Specialist to join our Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance team in Blackburn.

Reporting to the Executive Manager Data Officer, you will support the information management capability across The Salvation Army (TSA). You will provide advice, coaching and will drive the continuous improvement initiatives in line with digitalization transformation strategies across all levels of the business.

The key focus of the role is:
Advisory:

- Develops and implements Information Management strategy and policy documents.
- Ensure data practices integrate into overall data architectures and data management principles (e.g. data governance, data security, metadata, data quality).
- Adapts advisory approach to suit business context and maturity, balancing compliance with progress

Information Governance Framework:

- Lead and facilitate Data and Information governance forums for effective decision making
- Monitor compliance to information standards and provide support for adapting to new processes
- Curate and present reports summarising improvement opportunities to ensure compliance with standards and conventions and develops strategies to minimise ongoing risks
- Conduct audits using profiling systems in keeping with information practices to ensure adoption of policies, guidelines and procedures
- Maintain and continuously improve TSA's information governance framework by assessing and managing risks around the use of information

ABOUT YOU
- Strong facilitation and change leadership with a proven ability to facilitate and lead decision making discussions
- Minimum 5 years prior experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of information management and information-related legislation and standards
- Demonstrated experience leading a delivering medium scale and complexity information projects
- Experience and knowledge working across information management concepts
- Proven experience with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in engaging with and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
