**Job description**:
**The Opportunity**

On behalf of a large federal government agency based in Richmond, we are looking for a Finance Officer to join the Finance team on a 12-month assignment. This role will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, paying $60.26 per hour plus super with hybrid working arrangements in place.

The role includes processing working within a team environment and you will be responsible for AP/AR and credit card reports as well as managing the Finance Service Desk in order to make sure that all requests are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.

**Responsibilities may include but are not limited to**:

- Analysing and interpreting statistical reports to assist with the development of work plans and strategic planning.
- Preparing credit card, accounts payable, debtors and employee debt reports.
- Preparing support for direct payments
- Preparing AP, AR, and Credit Card slides for inclusion in Executive pack
- Developing correspondence for stakeholders, such as financial reports, corporate documentation and responses to ministerial submissions.
- Undertaking detailed financial analysis of branch/division’s variance to budget and forecast.
- Undertaking financial administration and across the division’s cost centres and projects, including budgets, monitoring, forecasting and accruals.

**To be considered for this role you will demonstrate;**
- Previous experience within a similar role
- Intermediate excel skills & analytical
- Microsoft Excel skills that will support you working with large volumes of financial data.
- Attention to detail to ensure journals accurately reflect actuals.
- Analysis skills to provide quality variance commentary
