The purpose-built **Port Stephens Koala Hospital **is a leading provider of koala and native animal species care in the NSW.

With a small but highly dedicated team of professionals, a large volunteer workforce, and state-of-the-art equipment, our hospital offers the best available treatment and technology to care for our native animals. Our growing team comprises of 1 veterinarian, 9 support staff, and over 200 active volunteers.

We are seeking a highly motivated General Manager, who reports directly to the Board of Directors, with the vision and expertise to make a significant contribution to the future of the organisation.

**Essential criteria**:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications coupled with strong Experience in a similar role or related field at this level
- Demonstrated successful project management experience
- Ability to be a hands-on leader with management of the team and operations
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial management, human resources, risk management and governance within a small to medium sized business environment
- A passion for working with **wildlife** and people
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated consultative decision making and an ability to lead and manage change
- A high level of organisation with the ability to prioritise in a busy work environment, overseeing all operations and business activities
- Strong attention to detail, record keeping and accountability
- Self-motivation and the ability to motivate and lead a multidisciplinary organisation and its personnel, to optimise employee engagement and maximising productivity
- High level of ability with relevant technology systems.

Social media, website skills are highly desirable

Financial experience is highly desirable
