**INTRODUCTION**
A vacancy exists for the position of Principal at Tatachilla Lutheran College. The Board of the College is

seeking to appoint a new Principal who is an outstanding educator and visionary leader who has the

capacity to embrace and implement the College’s Strategic Plan. The date of appointment will be at a time

to be negotiated, but ideally at the beginning of Term, 2024. The College Board has prepared an

information package and developed a selection process which is outlined in this document.

The College also offers an extensive co-curricular program that gives students the opportunity to pursue a

rich variety of interests, including dance, drama, music, public speaking, environmental conservation and

more than 40 different sports. Additionally, students have the chance to complement their academic studies

with rich service learning experiences - both interstate and overseas.

Our College operates a unique EcoClassroom; a revegetated site encompassing local flora and fauna. This

site is currently expanding and provides education to not only our students, but also other schools and

members of the wider community.

Tatachilla Lutheran College is a leading R-12 co
- educational Christian school in the heart of the stunning

McLaren Vale wine region.

Minutes from the captivating beaches and alluring hinterland of the Fleurieu Peninsula, the College is set

on 26 hectares of world-class rural beauty.

**GOVERNANCE**
Tatachilla Lutheran College is a member of Lutheran Education (SA, NT, WA). Responsibility for governance

is delegated to the College Board, whose members are appointed from supporting congregations and the

wider school community. The College Board members are:

The College Board is responsible for establishing policy, providing the fabric and facilities of the College,

monitoring its financial affairs and setting future directions.

The College Board meets monthly. The Principal is a non-voting member along with the Business Director

and College Pastor, who also attend Board meetings.

The work of the College is facilitated by three Sub
- Committees:

- Policies and Market Development Committee (P&MD)
- Audit & Compliance Committee (A&C)
- Master Plan Committee (MP)

The Board is concerned with the general oversight of the College, but the day to day running of the school

is delegated to the Principal and Executive Team.

A major responsibility of the College Board is the formulation and implementation of the Strategic Plan.

**THE COLLEGE’S PROUD HISTORY**
Tatachilla Lutheran College is built on an ancient sandstone rock: strong, constant and of the earth.

The school began as a leap of faith more than 30 years ago, based on a dream held by Reverend Garrie

Fischer to create a place of Christian learning that would one day transform the lives of all who sought to be

educated on the ancient rock.
