**What you will be doing**:
An exciting opportunity has become available to join the casual pool at Nepean Hospital for Assistants in Midwifery. The successful applicant will:

- Provide support to the nursing team in an acute care environment as directed by the Registered Nurse/Midwife
- Provide direct care activities to patients in accordance with the nursing care plan and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse/Midwife
- Assist Registered Nurse/Midwives and Enrolled Nurses with patient care interventions as directed and within the scope of practice
- Contribute to collecting accurate health care information and maintaining accurate health care documentation as required
- Communicate effectively with patients and other health care team members in accordance with appropriate protocol

**Selection Criteria to be Addressed**:

- Currently enrolled as a 2nd year second semester in a Undergraduate Midwifery Program
- Able to demonstrate ability to organise and prioritise work
- Commitment to women-centred Maternity care
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work a variety of shifts including night duty and weekends with a minimum of 2 shifts/week
- Demonstrated evidence of complying with Immunisation category A
