About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Verification & Acceptance Manager to join the Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) Program business based in Osborne, SA. The DCE program will provide a number of capability upgrades to the existing Hobart Class guided missile destroyers (DDG). Based at our Osborne Shipyard in SA.
Reporting to the DCE RVCA Manager, as the Verification and Acceptance Manager you will be responsible for developing, negotiating and managing the scope of the DCE Verification and Acceptance Program. This role will also be responsible for leading a small team of Verification and Validation engineers.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and flexible work arrangements.
**Key responsibilities include (but not limited to)**:

- Responsible for managing the scope of the DCE PI Verification and Acceptance (V&A) Program, and delivery of this scope into the DCE Program
- Lead V&A department in interactions with a variety of stakeholders including Test & Commissioning, Operations, Quality, Engineering and the Customer to ensure schedule and quality adherence in-line with program processes
- Lead the recruitment and management of the team required to execute the V&A program scope.
- Manage and further develop V&A strategies, policies, processes and plans.
- Manage the development of, and adherence to, Verification & Acceptance (V&A) schedules and budgets, including the management V&A risk register.
- Manage communication and engagement with all stakeholders (internal and external to the business) including preparation, participation and holding Readiness Reviews and working groups
- Lead the V&A department support of business governance activities.
- Ensure that the V&A tasks are safely conducted using processes and procedures that are compliant with WHS legislation and the BAE Systems SHE policies.

About YOU
- Leadership: Experience working in a leadership rolewithin an engineering or complex organisation, preferably in a Defence/Maritime environment
- Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of Verification and Validation with a good understanding of Systems Engineering
- Communication skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate individuals and teams and foster a ‘One Team' approach.
- Outcomes focus: Proven ability to problem solve to deliver objectives. This includes managing interfaces and interdependencies; and developing and executing plans in a timely way
- Continuous improvement: A focus on always improving, with the ability to identify dependencies, risks, and opportunities
- Defence clearance: Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
