**Research and Administration Clerk**

**Fixed-Term Part Time for 12 months**

**20.8 - 30.4 hours (3-4 days) per week**

An exciting position exists for a Research Assistant to join an active, specialised team of researchers and clinicians involved in government, NHMRC and other high-profile studies as part of the Parent-Infant Research Institute (PIRI). PIRI is a vigorous and innovative Australian research institute focusing on understanding parent and infant well-being as well as developing treatments. In addition, administration skills are required.

This position will support the clinical and academic team as well as the Director and Business Manager of the Institute.

The research assistance will be required to support staff with data management, multivariate statistical analysis, grant writing, manuscript preparation. The administrative requirements will include general duties as well as typing, so an understanding of information technology and psychological terminology is helpful.

We are looking for a team player with highly developed organisational and computer skills, a sense of humour, a readiness to multitask and keen to work within a growing research institute. The position requires initiative, flexibility, and involvement in a number of activities.

**_Additional information to justify recruitment action_**

PIRI is conducting a national implementation e-mental health program for treating antenatal and postnatal depression funded by the Department of Health and also NHMRC-funded trials. A research assistant is needed to support project managers as well as the Director of the Parent-Infant Research Institute (PIRI). The role includes

data entry, protocol related tasks and other supports as they relate to each project, as required. Administration support will include supporting the Director and the Business Manager of the Parent-Infant Research Institute (PIRI) with high level tasks, e.g., drafting letters as well as general support.

The majority of funding for this position will come from the Department of Health funding for the MumSpace project.
