**The Team**

The Property Planning and Capital Works section is responsible for providing strategic property services including sustainability, and delivery of a national capital works program.

The AEC’s Property portfolio contains a large and diverse footprint to support a nationally dispersed network and agile workforce, and where the portfolio expands and contracts to meet our operational needs on for both long and short-term basis.

**The Opportunity**

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced property or project services professional to support the Assistant Directors Capital Works in delivering the AEC’s Capital Works program within the Property Planning and Capital Works section of the Strategic Priorities Branch, including participating in section planning for short term tasks and contributing to strategic planning for longer term initiatives.

The role is responsible for engaging with various stakeholders, planning and managing project deliverables, managing procurement activities, and contribution to high level advice and reports to the Executive. The position requires being a point of contact on all matters relating to the AEC’s capital works program including monitoring the progression of projects, setting priorities and monitoring and processing activities related to project budgets.

To excel you’ll have:

- Proven ability and experience in developing project artefacts such as business cases, value for money and risk assessments in a Property, project or program related function.
- Experience in procurement and financial management activities to support projects or programs, including tracking and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and monitoring services provided by 3rd parties to support projects and capital works.
- Experience in managing, monitoring and reporting of key project deliverables including the direction, quality and budget of all projects and project stages.
- Demonstrated experience in analysis of complex issues with the ability to propose and facilitate change and contribute to business improvement strategies.
- Proven ability to document policies, papers, briefs and other key artifacts for various stakeholder audiences.
- Ability to support complex projects, including exercising good judgement and problem solving ability.
- Understanding of Commonwealth Government property and procurement legislation and other relevant legislation, policies and guidelines.
- Ability to develop and support key internal and external relationships, including managing stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals. In addition, represent the agency by promoting its interests in various forums.
- Knowledge and experience in successfully setting priorities and delivering quality results on time and on budget.
- Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and negotiate with team members, business areas and external stakeholders.
