YMCA of South Australia is seeking a Swim Teacher in Charge to join The Parks Recreation and Sports Centre. YMCA Swim Teachers in Charge (TIC) are an essential component in the delivery of the YMCA Swimming Lessons Program. TICs are required to maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of YMCA aquatic programs, educational trends, and industry development.

As the YMCA SA Swim Teacher in Charge, you will:

- Provide leadership and direction during assigned shifts to all participants of the LTS program
- Maintain lessons plans and ensure equipment is in a good working order
- Ensure lane allocations are assigned as scheduled
- Ensure classes are completed within format guidelines and compliance
- Construct and implement lesson plans that promote group teaching methods, combining stroke development with water safety, and enhancing the developmental assets aspect of YMCA programs
- Keep records of student’s daily attendance via Teacher tick sheets - for accurate statistical information
- Handle customer complaints and requests in a timely fashion as per YMCA South Australia policy
- Enhance student interaction and collaboration to ensure students meet program outcomes and continually progress through the levels
- Be responsible for the safety and supervision of students in the class
- Be available for weekend shifts, and can work water shifts (as needed)

YMCA Swim Teachers in Charge are committed to the philosophies of the YMCA swimming lessons program and the delivery of safe, effective, and professional lessons. They provide leadership, communication and supervision to the swimming lessons program. TIC’s have strong communication skills that will enable them to communicate effectively with parents, students and swim teachers for a positive customer experience.

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety or Swim Australia Teacher accreditation or equivalent
- (HLTAID009) Provide CPR
- Certificate of completion for “Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect” (RRHAN-EC) training
