You can be constrained by technical issues. Communication breakdown between teams. Limited resources. Balancing technical, customer and business objectives. Heck, you can even run into changing customer requirements. That’s the job you signed up for and those are the challenges you face as a Product Manager.

But what really kills you, and a good product, is a lack of clarity and market understanding with shifting priorities. If you don’t have autonomy to make decisions to shape product, you’re not empowered to be effective.

If that sounds familiar, is it time for change?

You could be the first full-time hire in Product for this AgriTech Scale-Up that’s backed by Telstra and other big players. They received $12m in funding in late 2022, hired five new engineers in 2023 and are generating revenue. Now they’re maturing their product by further developing new features for their platform that will benefit their customers even more.

This means, you'll work in a mission driven environment where your goal and impact is clear. Transform a founder led vision into roadmap and contribute to the development of an already successful IoT platform that will provide tremendous productivity gains to Australian farmers and the agricultural sector.

**A bit more about the role...**

You’ll have access to paying customers that are eager to invest in the platform to see it become a success because it makes their work environment a lot more productive and safer. This means you’ll have clarity and access to your end users so you can set consistent direction for the product.

Being in an innovative environment, you’ll be at the forefront of cutting-edge technology (how many IoT themed starts ups do you know in Australia that service the Agricultural sector?). You’ll have access to talented engineers which help you grow.

You’ll own complex technical challenges that push you to make decisions around technical feasibility, prioritising features and requirements for a modern SaaS platform that connects remote agricultural sites to high throughput cellular networks. The platform takes advantage of WiFi, IoT and other wireless telecommunication technologies to make this magic happen.

Now it’s not a walk in the park. You’ll be the first full time hire in product. It means you’ll help in taking the function and this platform to the next level so initially you’ll have to balance your desire to build something awesome with the need focus on features that deliver value to customers quickly.

Your success will be tied to the company's success; you’ll have stock options in the business with two enterprise grade investors committed to further rounds of investment.

**What do you need?**

Ideally, you’ll also have come out of a start-up or scale-up environment that’s successfully brought products to market.

You’ll have flexible hours and can work from home a couple of days a week, but you’ll need to be able to get yourself to the Melbourne CBD offices for the rest of the week.
