About the RoleThis full-time role offers a unique opportunity to be hands-on and creatively involved across all Metricon Brands. As a Product Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative and intuitive product solutions that meet the needs of our customers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive design excellence and stay current with residential design trends, latest building products, and emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop product solutions that meet customer needs and exceed expectations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive design excellence and innovation
- Stay current with residential design trends, latest building products, and emerging technologies
- Manage design and documentation of all aspects of the home, including site plans, floor plans, facades, elevations, internals, design options, and relevant details
- Ensure compliance with national building codes and regulations
- Problem-solve and contribute positively to the solution of product designs

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong design skills and a passion for design excellence
- A strong portfolio showcasing innovative and creative residential designs
- Relevant degree or diploma in Building Design & Drafting, Diploma of Architectural Drafting, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in design and/or drafting environment
- Experience in the residential volume home building industry in a design and/or drafting capacity is highly preferred
- Proficiency in design software and tools relating to house design, including Revit
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, thriving in a team-orientated environment
