Despatch Manager

**The role**
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Despatch Manager to join our team. Based at our Box Hill site in NSW this role will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of our Sydney depot, including overseeing the despatch function and managing the yard staff.
This role is a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension/conversion to permanent full time.
As the Despatch Manager, you will be accountable for providing proactive leadership and direction to our team by maintaining performance standards, driving accountability and ensuring you help nurture a culture of continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role you will have a solid understanding of Logistic operations and have worked in a similar role to ensure we continue to maintain success in the areas of safety and customer satisfaction.
**Responsibilities**
- Management of despatch and yard staff, including rostering
- Responsible for Health and Safety, ensuring compliance across the site, including Heavy Vehicle Chain of Responsibility
- Developing and maintaining customer relationships with key stakeholders
- Monitor and maintain transport and yard costs relevant to budget
- Coordinate and manage the pallet returns and repairs for the site
**What you will need to succeed**
- Proven track record in a similar role
- Solid leadership capability with experience in managing people
- Strong knowledge of the transport industry, experience relating to compliance in transport legislations and regulations, including Heavy Vehicle Compliance
- Hands on attitude
