**Job description**:
**The Opportunity**

On behalf of a large Federal Government Agency, we are looking for an APS6 Program Support Officer for a 12 month assignment based in Geelong.

The Program Support Officer is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work related to national deliverables, delivering quality outcomes guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards and performance metrics.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Lead and/or manage staff responsible for providing business administration support, expertise and technical knowledge across a range of activities
- Provide accurate and specialised advice, ensuring knowledge of and compliance with relevant legislation and policy
- Assess and maintain quality processes and documentation
- Coordinate and analyse data and written information for the purposes of drafting branch level communications and/or high level internal and external communications
- Collect and audit workforce planning and capacity data, reporting on staff lifecycle and confirming against financial, systems and people performance data

**About You**

To be successful in this role you will have;
- Experience within a similar role
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to be proactive and use critical thinking to navigate complex projects.
- Experience building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work in and lead a team and adapt quickly in a changing environment
