About This Opportunity

Located in Toowong, the Centre Manager of the UQ Poche Centre will support the Director and Executive team to manage the ongoing growth and development of the Centre. The role is responsible for managing all operational functions to ensure organisational and financial sustainability. You will be a central part of the ongoing development of a strong, unified, and effective structure, culture, and administration while working across a diverse range of activities. You will be an important link with community partners and other key internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities cover Operational Planning and Strategic Management, Financials, Resources and Staffing, as well as Engagement and Communication.- Support the Director and Executive team in providing overall leadership, ongoing development, and day-to-day operational management of the UQ Poche Centre.- Provide advice and action in relation to the business operations of the Centre inclusive of the development, implementation and overall management of the entity and delivery against the requirements under the UQ - Poche family trust funding agreement.-
- In consultation with the Faculty Finance Manager, oversee and liaise with appropriate Centre staff regarding the annual budget projections and quarterly forecast process.- Support the Principal Advisor HDR Engagement and Experience to develop effective student recruitment and engagement activities.- Lead, contribute to, and promote a high standard of staff performance, skills development, and productivity across all Centre activities.- In consultation with the Advisor and Manager, HR Client Partnering, Faculty of Health & Behavioural Sciences, provide advice and assistance to the Director on human resource matters and policies and procedures related to human resource management.- Liaise with senior academics, administrative staff, students, and other external stakeholders in relation to the finance and administration of the Centre.- Assist the Director, where instructed, to engage in consultation and negotiation with partners in the development of contracts.

This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 5 years.

At HEW level 8, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $105,338 - $118,280, plus a generous super allowance to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $123,245 - $138,388 annually.

About You- Substantial relevant experience and management expertise in a University or similar environment. Whilst postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications are considered highly desirable, an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training is required.- A demonstrated commitment and motivation for improving health equity and health services for Indigenous peoples.- Extensive relevant work experience in a senior management role, preferably within a health or higher education environment, with a focus on financial and budget planning, human resource management and facilities management.- Demonstrated strategic and operational planning skills including effectively managing change.- High level communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse groups.- Ability to work with senior colleagues to market and communicate the achievements of the organisation to a range of stakeholders including government, tertiary institutions, health services, clinicians and the broader community.- Ability to work and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at board level and the capacity to work with senior colleagues as a leader in a complex organisation.
