Organisation: Department of Education

**Salary**: $91,418 - $103,725

Occupation: Communications, Marketing and Media

Reference: VG/DE/VSBA/20006761

Reporting to the Manager of Community Engagement, the Communications Adviser is responsible for supporting communication and engagement activities across a significant school and early childhood infrastructure program.

You have an ability to ensure communication and engagement initiatives are effectively targeted, engaging and foster community engagement, while working within tight time frames. Tasks may involve political, commercial and culturally sensitive issues.

You will also need to demonstrate a high level of judgement, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills - act as a liaison, providing up-to-the-minute project information, answer questions, and resolve emerging problems with accuracy and efficiency.

You are the kind of person who is genuinely excited to help customers. You're patient, empathetic, and communicative. You put yourself in the shoes of the customer and advocate for them when necessary. Problem-solving also comes naturally and you are confident at troubleshooting and investigating further if you don't have enough information to answer customer questions or resolve complaints.
