TARGETED VACANCY
This role is an identified role under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person

**In this role, you will**:
Work collaboratively with internal and external partners and stakeholders in leading and supporting initiatives that advance the department's support for reframing the relationship with First Nations peoples.
Influence and support others in implementing initiatives which contribute to reframing the relationship with First Nations peoples.
Provide evidence-based advice to guide continuous improvement in the department's cultural capability.
Assist and guide the development of the departmental plan that supports the government's focus to reframe its relationship with Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Provide advice and support to the Capability and Culture team to develop and implement the Cultural Capability Action Plan and support the Cultural Capability Working Group.
Ensure fit for purpose project management practices are applied, including the design, delivery and evaluation, and recording of project outcomes.
Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.

**What experience you will bring**:

- cultural capability, including an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples culture and society, and the ability to engage in accordance with cultural protocols
- experience in co-designing and delivering projects/programs that translate strategic objectives into concrete actions
- ability to navigate ambiguity, influence change, and deliver outcomes including when faced with obstacles
- proven analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills and the ability to translate this to practical advice
- contributes to workplace equity, diversity and inclusion that enriches our culture of respect and inclusion
- establishes and maintain cooperative working relationships with team and internal and external stakeholders
- demonstrated commitment to developing yourself and others, including by actively giving and seeking feedback and sharing information.
