**The role**

The **Risk Officer** is an integral role in the team advocating for a culture of risk management and resilience across the department. In a manner consistent with the “Three lines of Defence” Risk Management model, you will effectively be taking a Line 2 role in support of Line 1 businesses. You’ll face exciting challenges, such as providing timely, practical critical advice and support to manage risks and control environments and maintaining high-quality risk practices amidst diverse business processes.

You will work closely with DPHI stakeholders to operationalise our Risk Management Framework and enhance risk awareness across the department developing improved risk management information and delivering risk awareness programs.

**What you will bring to the role**
- Strong practical knowledge of risk frameworks with demonstrated experience in enterprise or operations risk management and/or compliance activities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively articulate accurate, clear, and concise advice and support services.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations.
- Solid time management and organisational skills to prioritise tasks and meet tight and often conflicting deadlines efficiently.
- Capable of driving outcomes through the proactive development of strong trusted relationships to ensure alignment and collaboration with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
- Enjoys autonomy and demonstrates proficiency in working independently, taking initiative, and making decisions.

**What is an essential requirement**:

- Tertiary qualifications in governance, risk management or related disciplines; or equivalent experience.
