**About the Role**:
Melbourne Polytechnic is seeking a dynamic and driven Manager of Industry Initiatives - Innovation and Grants to join our Strategic Partnership team. In this role, you will champion innovative opportunities and contribute to the financial sustainability of the institution by systematically identifying, assessing, and securing external funding. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough research on funding opportunities, crafting persuasive grant proposals, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact by driving Melbourne Polytechnic’s growth through successful grant acquisition.

- Assume responsibility for the post-award management of grants, including reporting,
compliance, and progress monitoring.
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of grant-funded programs and initiatives.

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- Appropriate tertiary qualifications together with a well-developed understanding of the operating
context of vocational education and higher education and the intrinsic link to industry.
- Working with Children Check.
- The ability to support the exploration of innovative ideas from Academic Operations staff and
implement processes to assess the viability and feasibility of these ideas. This includes the
capacity to evaluate potential risks and benefits.
- Strong background in grant proposal development. Well-developed writing skills and the ability
to write briefing papers, submissions, tenders, expressions of interests, responses or similar in
response to commercial opportunities.
- Well-developed communication and negotiation skills to be able to represent Melbourne
Polytechnic in discussions with a diverse range of clients.
- The ability to stay up to date on changing funding funding opportunities from State and Federal
Governments, as well as other relevant sources.
- Experience in overseeing the post-award management of grants. This includes managing
reporting, compliance, and progress monitoring.
