- Dynamic case mix of adult and paediatric patients within a tertiary ICU

**About the facility**

The Geelong Hospital’s new, state-of-the-art 24-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a level III, adult, mixed medical, surgical and cardiothoracic ICU. Since 2010 it has also become a level II Paediatric ICU, and an ELSO (extra-corporeal life support) centre. It is the only level III ICU in the Barwon South Western region, and is the fifth busiest ICU in Victoria. Geelong ICU is committed to providing the best care possible for critically ill people in Western Victoria.

Essential: Specialist qualification of Fellow of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM)
Essential: Registration with The Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Essential: Meet the requirement of the Barwon Health's immunisations requirement
Desirable: Excellent communication skills
Desirable: Recent and/ or substantial paediatric ICU experience
Desirable: Recent and /or substantial adult ECMO experience
Desirable: Post Graduate qualification in critical care echocardiography ( completed or commitment to undertake)
Desirable: ECMO cannulation and management course (completed or commitment to undertake )
