**About you**
As our,
**_Purchasing Officer_**, you possess the following:

- Experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Procurement or Finance related activity
- Experience in coordinating and mentoring small teams
- Experience with assisting other team members to work through and solve system and data entry related issues.
- Ability to prioritise work and to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills to correct system and data entry issues.
- Demonstrated effective communication, negotiation and influencing skills to assist business with accurate data requirements for purchase order creation.

**About the opportunity**
Reporting to the
**Senior Manager Procurement**, you will work closely with the Procurement team, Financial Control team, Business units, and stakeholders, to enable delivery of goods and services across the business in line with RACGP policies and procedures. The purpose of this role is to:

- provide a central point of coordination for purchasing activities across the Purchasing Administrators
- allocate purchase order creation and management across resources responsible for handling purchasing transactions within the Purchasing and Procurement function (excludes purchasing transaction activity within other business units).
- perform the activities of a Purchasing Administrator by working with stakeholders across the business to create purchase orders in RACGP ERP that follow the organisational policies and procedures. This includes ensuring correct information is provided by stakeholder prior to purchase order placement, correct approvals have been sought by the business stakeholders, requisitions are correctly created with correct business unit and cost code information, and support the business as required in purchase order approval and goods receipting processing.
- Provide coordination and oversight of team activities and coordinate team resources to meet these needs, as appropriate.
