Assistant Business Manager

We are currently seeking a dedicated and highly skilled** Assistant Business Manager** to provide financial, operational, and administrative leadership within the College. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the College’s financial and business functions run smoothly and comply with statutory requirements, contributing to the overall success of the school community.
**Please note, this is a full-time position with 7 weeks annual leave, and it requires some work during school holidays.**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide leadership and supervision to the team, ensuring high standards of professionalism and continuous improvement.
- Oversee financial processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Ensure financial systems and procedures are accurate, efficient, and comply with legislation.
- Assist in preparing and reporting monthly and annual financial accounts, liaising with auditors and external financial entities.
- Manage the College’s Charter Bus Operation, ensuring effective service delivery and communication with families.
- Support the Principal, Business Manager, and Leadership Team in financial decision-making and compliance with legal requirements.
- Manage the College’s business functions, including finance, maintenance, ICT, OHS, compliance, and property management.
**Key Selection Criteria**:
- A commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the College and its mission.
- Knowledge of legislative frameworks related to payroll, leave, superannuation, and taxation.
- Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team, managing competing priorities effectively.
- Experience in financial reporting.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Computer literacy, including using business software such as Microsoft office or other systems or LMS.
- CPA or equivalent qualification is desired.
- Experience in a school or higher education setting is advantageous.
