Bush Heritage Australia, an independent, leading conservation not-for-profit, is seeking an **Ecologist - Events and Visitation Support Officer.**

Our vision of **_Healthy Country, Protected Forever_** sees us work where we are needed most: in areas of high conservation value with low levels of protection. With the help of our donors, we buy and manage land, so we can protect our irreplaceable landscapes and our magnificent native species forever.

We buy land that has outstanding conservation values and reconnect fragmented landscapes to protect habitat for wildlife. In addition, we partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and agricultural landowners to achieve conservation outcomes. Currently, Bush Heritage is working across more than 11.3 million hectares, protecting native and endangered species.

**About the role**

The Events Program is responsible for delivering core Bush Heritage events for the purpose of engaging with our supporters and broader audiences. These activities take place in regional and city locations and on-line platforms.

The Visitation Program is responsible for delivering a range of property-based activities such as self-guided day visits, camping stays and guided trips. These take place on Bush Heritage properties across the country.

These are busy, dynamic programs providing great ways we can connect with people to bring about change and support of our work. We are looking for someone who has excellent organisational and communication skills, is a good team player and willing to learn. Someone who is creative yet able to undertake repetitive tasks and have a good attention to detail.

**What you'll need to succeed**:

- Experience working in similar role or with demonstrated relevant experience.
- Ability to multitask and work to deadlines across both programs.
- Resourceful, self-driven and highly organised, with high level of initiative and creative problem solving.
- Excellent administrative skills including use of Word, Power Point, Excel, Publisher, and databases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive interpersonal relationships with people at all levels.
- Ability to work well with others, within a small team as well as autonomously.
- Flexible and able to work to event hours (sometimes outside of usual work hours).
- Willingness to travel (including interstate) to help support events.
