**OVERVIEW**

Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Director to join their team at the EL1 level. Within this role you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the provision of telephony-based service that provides clinical intake, escalations services, brief telephone counselling interventions, risk identification and safety planning for veterans and their families who are seeking counselling support.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide clinical oversight of initial assessment and triage for clients, this includes the provision of ongoing consultation and advice to clinicians in the intake team.
- Monitor the delivery of clinical intake and counselling services across the team to ensure consistency, adherence to relevant clinical policy, and administrative procedures.
- Manage the development and implementation of Intake protocols, procedures and best practices for the provision of high quality, nationally consistent intake service provision.
- Coordinate the training and induction of clinical staff to undertake the clinical and administration tasks required for the intake and counselling service.
- Provide expert advice on policy, complex problem solving and issues management for internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement change and manage ambiguity in the workplace.

**EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS**
- Qualifications as a registered Psychologist / Mental Health Occupational Therapist / Mental Health Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration, **OR**:
**AND**
- Working with Children (WWC) and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance
- Extensive clinical and relevant management experience
- Relevant experience within the Australian Public Services is desirable.
- Relevant experience in complex case management is desirable.
- Relevant experience in the leadership and management of clinical teams is desirable.
- Management experience within clinical settings is desirable.

**IMPORTANT TO NOTE**

This is a full-time position, and applicants must have availability to rotate across a **7 day a week roster between the hours of 6am and 11pm**.
