With population in Sydney expected to grow from five million to eight million in the next 40 years, improvements to existing transport networks and the creation of new transport connections will be to meet the growing needs of our communities.

To ensure that our investments today are supported and deliver the expected benefits tomorrow, Transport has adopted a format asset management framework that applies across the lifecycle of our assets. A key element of this framework is the establishment of formalised lifecycle costing methods, and long term asset management partnerships with industry.

A key example of these long term asset management contracts is the one that Transport has signed for the asset management, operation and maintenance of the Sydney Harbour Tunnel (SHT) and future Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT).

Seconded into this team are a number of team members from the Safety, Environment and Regulation (SER) division of Transport. SER is accountable for safety, standards, asset management and sustainability in our transport system.

As Director Strategic Asset Management, and reporting to Director Strategic Asset Management Services and supporting the SHT, WHT and other Transport infrastructure and transport modes, you’ll work closely with your team to develop and implement contracts and organisational asset and services plans that consider the long-term service requirements and provide best-value.

The two Directors will also foster and maintain working relationships with teams across Transport as well as external contractors and service providers, providing strategic advice across operations, maintenance and asset lifecycles to ensure optimum whole-of-life asset performance and value for money.

**About you**

You’re a collaborative leader keen to bring your strong working knowledge of asset management to help Transport deliver Australia’s biggest transport infrastructure program.

You’re skilled at building relationships and influencing others, bringing people on the journey with you to help drive the best outcomes for our asset portfolios. As the Director Strategic Asset Management Services, you’re someone who can see the bigger picture - always ensuring we’re delivering the best for our customers and NSW communities. As the Director Strategic Asset Management, you will bring your knowledge of emerging technology and trends to develop practical solutions in line to meet Transports expectations.

To be successful in the Director Strategic Asset Management Services role, you can demonstrate:

- experience and success managing a multi-disciplinary team, including setting team goals, measuring performance, motivating and leading people and projects, and achieving organisational goals
- an understanding of information management technology and asset management systems
- experience in reviewing and interpreting information to inform data-based decision-making.

To be successful in the Director Strategic Asset Management role, you can demonstrate:

- experience developing asset maintenance strategies and programs, ensuring effective whole of life management of transport assets
- experience in developing asset management plans and managing a team of project managers and external providers to deliver high quality project outcomes
- skills and experience in leading, developing and motivating multidisciplinary teams of technical specialists.
