**About the role**:
Joining EPA's Policy and Regulation Branch is an exciting opportunity. Reporting to the Senior Policy Officer, the Policy Officer is a member of a team responsible for delivering high-quality policy and regulation advice, projects, and initiatives in relation to water, air, and noise.

**In this role, you will (not limited to)**:

- Develop and deliver high-quality policy and regulation projects, advice, informed decisions, and initiatives in relation to water, air, and noise.
- Aligned to EPA’s strategic priorities, you will contribute to the prevention of harm to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste.
- Provide administrative support to achieve regulatory outcomes, ensuring that all Government and EPA policies and procedures.
- Provide evidence-based, useful, and timely advice to internal and external stakeholders, including EPA executives, ministerial offices, public sector peers, and external organisations.
- Represent the EPA positively in engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders ensuring deliverables are achieved on time.

**Skills and experience**:
Here are the types of experience, qualifications, and qualities we are looking for:

- A relevant tertiary degree/ equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience in at least one key area (Public policy, environmental science, law, planning, economics, humanities) - Highly Desirable.
- Proven skills and experience conducting noise assessments under the Environment Protection Act 2017 - Highly Desirable.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and evaluating regulatory policy, instruments, strategy, and guidance in a fast-moving and challenging public policy context.
- Solid understanding of good practice and the processes required for developing and delivering regulatory instruments in Victoria.
