An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Council as Adviser, Governance, Legal and Regulatory to contribute to the ground-breaking work in the areas of truth, treaty, self-determination and cultural rights.
The responsibilities of the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Council include registering, monitoring, and supporting Registered Aboriginal Parties (RAPs) to exercise cultural heritage responsibilities in their local areas as well as the management of Aboriginal Ancestral Remains and Secret and Sacred Objects.
About you
- Knowledge of issues relevant to social policy or human rights matters, ideally relating to the rights of First Nations.
- Experience in preparing reports, presentations, and recommendations on complex issues
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills
