About the Team
Join the dynamic Service Design Division, where we collaborate with stakeholders to design and deliver improvements that enhance participant outcomes and their overall experience. Our focus is on process, platform, and practice solutions that address key Agency priorities. We embed co-design and a stakeholder perspective into our work, ensuring our designs provide the greatest value. Aligned with the Participant Service Charter principles, we drive transparency in Agency decision-making through consistent processes, written guidance, and clear communication.

About the Role
As an APS6 Project Officer, you will operate under limited direction, undertaking complex work guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies, and precedents. This leadership role involves resolving issues and risks across various activities, providing leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management, and decision-making for your team.

  • Develop and manage project plans and schedules within the Agency's project management framework.
  • Provide specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
  • Conduct independent research and analysis, preparing draft reports on relevant project activities.
  • Coordinate regular project reporting, including status updates and exception reports.
  • Prepare draft written materials such as business cases, plans, executive briefs, and corporate documentation.
  • Monitor project budgets, review, and report on expenditure, and assist with procurement and contract management.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and benefits.
  • Contribute to project quality management to ensure deliverables meet client needs.

About you
To thrive in this role, you need:

  • Proficiency in researching and generating insights to inform Agency decisions.
  • Experience in documenting and improving service designs based on user experiences.
  • Skills in facilitating process improvements and championing stakeholder perspectives.
  • Capability to lead design-thinking sessions for developing and testing service processes.
  • Deep understanding of the Agency's role and impacts.
  • Overseeing service experiences that comply with the Digital Service Standard.
  • Evaluating solutions and designs both conceptually and tactically.
  • Supporting management with system tools and additional tasks as needed.
  • Be able to pass and hold a national police check and worker screening check.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen.
