**THE ROLE**
Reporting to the Senor Investigation Officer, the Investigation Officer effectively investigates complaints and notifications about registered and unregistered Victorian disability workers in accordance with the _Disability Service Safeguards Act 2018_ (Vic) (the Act). This position will gather information and prepare investigation reports, findings and documents for senior staff (which may be relied on in court proceedings). The Investigation Officer will contribute to the team's operation of end-to-end complaint and investigation processes to support the Victorian Disability Worker Commissioner (the Commissioner) and the Disability Worker Registration Board of Victoria (the Board) in the execution of their legislated functions and powers.
An ability to conduct impartial investigations of complaints, provide sound reports and findings and a demonstrated understanding of the issues faced by people with disability will underpin success in this role.
**Are you**
- An experienced investigator with professional knowledge of investigation procedures, and demonstrated experience ensuring compliance with a range of legislative requirements and guidelines?
- Able to build, maintain and influence effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver robust and impartial investigations and drive compliance?
- Adept at writing and recording comprehensive case management note and third party and witness statements for reporting to manager, Board and Commissioner, and for use in court and tribunal hearings?
**ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE**
- Conduct impartial and timely investigations throughout Victoria arising from complaints made about unregistered and registered disability workers, in accordance with the Act.
- Exercise powers of an authorised officer to request information, interview parties to complaints and inspect premises etc, relevant to the complaint and in accordance with the Act.
- Liaise with external stakeholders (witnesses and third parties) during an investigation and maintain professional and appropriate relationships consistent with the objectives of the investigative process.
