Main Purpose:
The Regional HSSE Manager - Asia Pacific will lead and implement Puma Energy’s Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) strategy, including management systems, programs and training to mitigate risk, optimise worker's health and safety, reduce environment and community impact, and foster a positive HSSE culture across the region. This role is responsible for providing strategic and operational HSSE advice and support to our leaders, and delivering initiatives that continually improve our culture and performance in line with the Puma Energy Global HSSE Vision and Strategy.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Drive a high performing Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) culture that promotes accountability and employee advocacy through effective leadership and people engagement strategies.
- Lead the development, implementation and measurement of regional strategies, initiatives and targets that foster
- continual improvement in HSSE performance and culture. Coach and influence business leaders on HSSE issues and initiatives and drive consistency in the implementation of Puma Energy HSSE Vision, Strategy, Management Systems, Governance, and Assurance Programs.
- Manage HSSE compliance and regulatory issues across the Asia Pacific Region consistent with Puma Energy policies and operational requirements. Identify, develop and monitor strategies to manage emerging issues and risks relevant to HSSE management to ensure business preparedness and continuity.
- Provide opportunities for cross business knowledge sharing of critical experiences in HSSE performance and risk management. Liaise directly with external contractors, customers and stakeholders including regional Regulatory Authorities and Agencies.
- Proactively monitor and analyse HSSE performance data and trends, and initiate continuous improvement opportunities across the Asia Pacific Region. This includes but not limited to: Risk Management, Safety in Design, Incidents and Investigations, Human and Organisational Performance, Culture and Behaviour, Change Management, HSSE Audit and Assurance Programs, HSSE Learning and Development Programs, Contractor Management, Permit to Work (PTW), Road Transport, Environment and Community Impacts, HSSE Hazards, Near Miss, Occupational Health and Hygiene, Governance and HSSE components of Puma Energy sustainability reporting.
- Support and provide guidance to site, country and regional leadership where appropriate on investigations into injuries, incidents, near misses, breaches or other events. Where required, lead high severity incident investigations and ensuring a high-quality standard together with recommendations.
- Conduct local level monitoring and measurement activities as necessary to identify areas of non
- compliance with the implementation and effectiveness of the Global HSSE Management System. Work with site, country and regional leadership to incorporate these improvement opportunities into short
- and long-term business planning.
- Build a team of accountable HSSE leaders who can deliver the business goals. Role model the Puma Energy values, coach and proactively manage performance of the team. Build a strong culture of positive individual and team behaviours and drive high levels of team engagement. Create an environment that encourages personal growth and development opportunities.
- Prepare reports and presentations including recommendations that contribute to ongoing improvement activities, country crisis management and business continuity plans. Assist in the development of strategic reporting to ensure the executive team and business leaders understand current and emerging HSSE risk trends within the Asia Pacific Region.
- Identify and oversee site, country and regional annual business plans and align to the Global HSSE Strategy and improvement initiatives. Assist in the development and negotiation of regional and global annual plans and budgets for the mitigation and management of HSSE risks.
- Actively participate as a member of the Global HSSE leadership team and work collaboratively with the broader HSSE Groups across Puma Energy and Trafigura (where required).

**Requirements**:
**Experience**:

- 10 year’s practical experience in a Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) role, ideally with a focus in Oil and Gas, Construction, Aviation and/or other high-risk industries, including 5 years in a leadership role;
- Comprehensive understanding of the HSSE legislative frameworks across the Asia Pacific jurisdiction and the ability to clearly and concisely communicate legal requirements;
- University degree in health, safety and/or environment discipline or similar;
- Postgraduate degree in health and safety or business administration is preferred;
- HSE Lead Auditor qualifications (IRCA, RABQSA or equivalent);
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management is preferred;
